How to pick a real estate agent
Most advice for picking a real estate agent is pretty standard: find somebody who’ll listen to you, who’s experienced, sweats the details, works evenings and weekends, blah, blah, blah.

I’m looking for a true 2 bedroom with laundry in the building.
A dishwasher would be great but not a necessity.
Need to be under 10 blocks from the subway and in a SAFE area.
Looking to spend 2400 or less…
So, what are some of the cheapest neighborhoods I can find this and what site can I use to find apartments? I’d rather not use a broker b/c of the fee..
I’ve heard good things about Chelsea, LIC/Astoria, and Brooklyn. Any others you know of?

I’m 19 year old Realtor in NYC. I love this job, and I definitely see myself doing this for a couple of more years. However I want to take it a step further and start building connections with landlords. What is the best way to get rental listings from Landlords. I ask some of the more veteran agents and they tell me it’s through networking, or by people they just know that connect them. I’m still a rookie, I make deals, but getting listings where I can get part of the commission if a co-agent rents it is a great incentive. Any one know of any websites where landlords gather on a forum or any conventions where they meet? Better yet any landlords out reading this that owns a building in Manhattan or Brooklyn, that would like to rent their empty apartments faster with an army of over 50 agents that advertise on NYTimes, have two Storefront Office Boutiques. One on the Upper East Side, another in Mid Town West, and still expanding….at no cost to you.

I am just recently out of college a year. I work two jobs but have had some serious credit problems due to my parents( I won;t get into it) Anyways, I am in job right now making decent money and I would eventually like to move to NYC or a close borough ( Queens, Brooklyn) My credit score is not that great right now, and I am NOT looking to move for another year. I can’t ask my parents to co-sign, because they are not in the best financial shape. Besides paying my bills on time, what else would I need to do to reach my goal? What kind of score is a creditor looking for a rental of an apartment.
